Anti Bacterial

Bamboo can thrive naturally without the use of pesticides as it is seldom eaten by pests or infected by pathogen. There were claims out of China that scientists found that bamboo contains a unique anti-bacteria and bacteriostasis bio-agent named “bamboo kun”. This substance is maintained in the finished bamboo fabric as it is bound tightly to the bamboo cellulose molecule.

Bamboo fabric has excellent natural functions. The claimed anti-bacterial and deodorising properties come from the Japan Textile Inspection Association who found that even after bamboo fabric had been washed fifty times, it still possessed excellent anti-bacterial and bacteriostasis functions. Its test result showed that over 70% of bacteria incubated on bamboo fibre fabric did not survive.

Bamboo fibres have been proven to be naturally anti-bacterial. This differs greatly from that of chemical antimicrobials. The latter often tends to cause skin allergies when added to clothing.

Biodegradable & Green Fibre

The type of bamboo used for making fabric, commonly known as Moso, is extremely fast growing! It can reach a mature height of 75 feet in just 45 to 60 days. Bamboo not only grows quickly but rarely needs pesticides. If there is sufficient rainfall, no additional irrigation is required. It regenerates naturally through an extensive root system that sends out an average of four to six new shoots per year.

What’s more, bamboo fibre is a biodegradable textile material. As a natural cellulose fibre, it is 100% biodegraded in soil by micro organisms and sunshine. Another great aspect is, the decomposition process doesn’t create any environmental pollution.

Bamboo fibre has been praised as “the natural, green, and eco-friendly new-type textile material of 21st century”.

Bamboo fabric allows your skin to breathe. This remarkable feature is due to the cross-section of the bamboo fibre. It is filled with various micro-gaps and micro-holes, giving it a much better moisture absorption and ventilation function. With this unparalleled micro-structure, bamboo fabric clothing can absorb and evaporate perspiration quickly and efficiently. This unique function helps to make people feel extremely cool and comfortable in the hot summer. You won’t find your clothing sticking to your skin, even in hot summer.  What is interesting to note: fabric testing has show clothing made from bamboo is 1-2 degrees lower than clothing made from conventional cotton in hot summer.

Hypoallergenic

This natural fibre is hypoallergenic, meaning it has a decreased tendency to cause allergies. Bamboo fabric is very soft and can be worn directly next to the skin. Many people who experience allergic reactions to other natural fibres, such as wool or hemp, do not complain of this issue with bamboo. The fibre is naturally smooth and round without chemical treatment, meaning that there are no sharp spurs to irritate the skin
